Happy International Print Day!

How has print been an important part of your life? Your job? Your creativity?

Print has been a part of my life for almost 20 years! Wow! Since I was a customer of BPI's (then Boaz Printing) in 1999 while interning, I first met my now colleague, Wendy, as she was our account rep. I loved learning from her as a printing rep and seeing how marketing materials came to life in print. Back then, she brought proofs (bluelines and matchprints output from film) for us to review before plates were created for going to press. But it wasn't until I started working at BPI in 2001 that I learned how those proofs were actually created. Seeing how our files were processed into film was really interesting to me and gave me a deeper understanding of CMYK. That's when I knew I had found not only my job, but my career in the world of print.

Now print isn't all about film. It's about growing and evolving as our customers' needs have changed. Its' about streamlining orders through our storefront. It's about helping customers with fulfillment and distribution of their marketing materials and POP to their sales teams, dealer networks, distributors and multiple locations. It's about wide format printing and all the substrates and hardware options available to help showcase your print media.

There are so many ways print has blessed and enriched my professional and personal life, but it has brought me to love what I do and enjoy working with a diverse customer base and help launch their creativity into a beautiful printed product. That's why today, I celebrate International Day of Print! How can BPI help with your next project?

Print is Wide Open

It's been a while since I've posted here, but I wanted to give a little update and share what's new and exciting at BPI Media Group! BPI keeps growing and evolving to keep up with our clients' needs, and a big part of that is in the wide format division. Earlier this year, we added a new digital press, the Durst Rho P10 250HS Plus. It's awesome and then some!!! This machine has helped us so much already--improved quality, speed and ease of use.

Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I'm sharing a few photos of some client work recently produced on the Durst. The sky is the limit with this machine--so many options for substrates, sizes and then cuts on our router/cutters for finishing. We have experience in finding the right hardware for you to hang, display or showcase the printed pieces or signs. How can BPI Media help you?

Print Can Be Fun!

Most of the time when people ask what I do, I tell them, oh, I work for a print company who prints magazines, catalogs, direct mail and other collateral and POP material. After they til their heads, and say, "Oh, you print junk mail?", I pull out my phone and start showing them pictures of what all BPI Media Group really does. Then, the light bulb goes off.

It's pretty cool to do show and tell with family, friends and especially clients and prospects, because then print gets fun! We at BPI get really excited when we get a new piece of equipment, so here's our latest and greatest addition to our large format department: the addition of an HP Latex Printer. This opens up a broader spectrum of substrates on which we can print. Curious about the benefits of latex printing? Check out this video.

It's All in the Details

There are so many ways we convey messages to friends, family and even customers and prospects. Did you know that addressing someone by name (aka, personalizing the message) can lift your response rate? Some studies show that calling someone by name can even lift their spirits and provide a more engaging conversation.

Just yesterday, I was in downtown Atlanta seeing a client. After dealing with the two-way traffic parking deck that was a bit narrow, walking in heels up the street into the intimidatingly tall building and taking the old elevator up to an upper-level floor, I was feeling a bit frazzled. The moment I walked into their suite, I was greeted by name as they were expected me, and my company's name was played on the monitor welcoming me. Boy, did I feel special! All the stress of getting there melted away, and we had a great meeting about print on demand, fulfillment and other print and large format opportunities.

If such a small thing as having someone's name and company name displayed made little ole me feel that special, imagine how great it could be for your customers and prospects to receive messaging about your service or new product if it were personalized to them with their specific needs in mind?

BPI Media Group has the equipment and technology to make that happen, so let's brainstorm on ways to drill down on your messaging to get your customer's attention and make them take that call to action. Here are a couple of examples of how BPI used personalization in promo packets.
